Spoolable General Installation Guide
Fiberspar Linepipe is a Spoolable product that consists of an inner thermoplastic pressure barrier that is reinforced by high strength glass fibers embedded in an epoxy matrix. Fiberspar is intended for corrosive gathering and injection applications including general and sour produced fluids and gases.
Pipe is supplied in continuous lengths up to 9000 ft. (2740 m) and is supplied on reels for rapid installation in most applications. Wear-resistant exterior layer provides excellent damage resistance during handling and installation.
Temperature rated from -29°F to 140°F, 180°F and 203°F continuous operation. Operating pressures 750 to 3500 psi. 21 international patents awarded. Wear resistant exterior layer along with unique bonding layer between thermoplastic pressure barrier (internal liner) and true GRE structure. Pipe is supplied on reels to provide extended length between connection sites (minimal number of joints). Connectors available in all standard configurations (flanged, threaded, weld-end, etc.) or custom connections can be supplied.
Our products are designed with Service Factors for Water, Oil and Gas in full compliance with API RP 15S and CSA Z662.
Fiberspar patented LinePipe connectors are designed to grip into the fiberglass reinforced laminate to maximize strength and long-term effectiveness, avoiding the “creep” that occurs when connecting to thermoplastics.
Fiberspar’s design and assembly procedure allows the connectors to be made with standard hand tools and does not cause distortion of the connector components, allowing them to be reused if changes in the piping system layout are made. “Crimping” (reducing the outer sleeve) or “Swageing” (expanding the inner sleeve) causes other connector designs to be “one and done”.
